heaven is real
This is a music video made for No_4mat latest release album No Fear . We are very excited to help introduce the album with it’s opening track.
The project started as a complete blank canvas, we had the freedom to create anything we desire, it was a blessing and a curse. Without any rules or boundaries it was tough to find the right direction. But we pushed forward, brainstorming while listening to Heaven is real and the entire album over and over . . .
Eventually landed on something that was endlessly inviting with a hint of mystery, a fitting style that will conform with the entirety of the album. Diving through several magical worlds just as the album.
Then we began narrowing down on the sequences >>

Using the track title heaven is real quite literally, we built the story on the creation of the world “ Let there be Light . . .” being the first scene. Though this isn’t intended to be religious, a Sci-Fi piece, it is merely a story we sourced our imagination from. As you will see other cultural symbols will also appear later in the film.
Following, a decent into to the deep sea with bioluminescent creatures, separation of light and darkness . . . resurface onto a bright warm forest, separation of ocean and land, while introducing plant and animal life.
In the desert a mix of ancient sculptures symbolizes the existence of human (the last creation) civilization, and also fun art pieces our team of artists got to explore.
Forest Guardian
Through out the second half of the film, our Guardian leads us over several environments, passing through gateways one by one.
This deer like creature design is heavily inspire by the Forest spirit in the Miyazaki film “ Princess Mononoke “. Similarly it stares at the audience through the lens, giving off an ominous aura, this was crucial on establishing the mood for our film.
The corals on its head and back comes from the deep sea sequence with vines latching on.
